BLACK POWDER SHOOT

Red Deer Fish and Game Association Black Powder Shoot will be held at the Habitat Land May 10 – 12, 2024. FOR SAFETY AND INSURANCE REASONS, the Habitat Land will be closed to Fishing, Archery and Trails and any other activities that are not in the main camp area by the club house from Friday, May 10 at 6:00pm until 6:00pm on Saturday May 11 and Sunday, May 12 until 1:00pm, as the Black Powder Shoot will be happening at the Habitat Land from May 10 – 12.

THURSDAY CAMPING: If you Plan on coming and setting up on Thursday, you will be required to pay the $25.00 camping fee for Thursday only.

Free camping is available starting Friday. Please leave Sunday after presentation of prizes and clean up.
Please note the water there is non-potable and there is only electrical hook ups. All dogs must be on leash and
cleaned up after.
The Rendezvous Information
1. Sign in will be available starting at 6:30pm on Friday and 8:00am Saturday.
2. You can register for 1, 2 or 3 events.
3. There will be cash prizes for the Trail Walk, Hawk and Knife and Aggregate. Archery will go towards
Aggregate score.
4. There will be coffee/tea/hot chocolate provided.
5. A social evening will be held on Saturday Evening.
6. The scorecards will be given to you when you register.
7. You will have a waiver to complete. Each group will need a member to sign as RSO for their group.
8. The kitchen will have limited use. We will give the final information on Friday, in the evening.
9. Washrooms will be available, there is a shower in each.
10. The Trail walk is Saturday and Sunday morning.
11. Archery and Hawk and Knife will be Saturday afternoon.
TRAIL WALK: Starts with announcements at the hall around 9:00am Saturday morning followed by the shoot.
On Sunday, a bacon and pancake breakfast will be served around 8:00am compliments of Ken and Mary Lynn,
Rob and Carolyn, and Richerd. You can start the course after breakfast. Scorecards MUST be in by noon on Sunday.
1. No shotguns or pistols, rifles only.
2. SMOOTH BORE COMPETITION: If you chose to do the trail walk with a smooth bore, high score will be
awarded a prize donated by Athabasca Gun Club.
3. Approximately 21 targets on Saturday, plus or minus, depending on conditions of the trail walk. Same as always, if you come to a target that is broken, draw a line through that number on your score card and shoot #23. If two targets are broken shoot #24. If 3 targets are broken, shoot #25.
4. Approximately 18 targets on Sunday, plus or minus. Same rules for broken targets.
FRIDAY COME AND TRY NIGHT! Approximately 7:00pm-9:00pm.Come Out Friday Night if you
would like to try Any or All of the Black Powder Events! Just come to the registration desk
