Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to put up the netting, rotortilling the pheasant pen, install 2 new posts, and plant the grass seed and corn rows. The pen survived the winter months quite well, with minimal damage. Together with the recent rain and Harold & Vince’s watering efforts, the corn is coming along nicely but we have yet to see the grass seed germinate, so hopefully that will come along soon.

The water line and power line were roughed in from the pump house to the pheasant pen this week, so we expect those 2 important utilities to be operational soon. Unfortunately our Special Ministers Grant Application was unsuccessful so roadwork and improvements at the East side of the Habitat Land will have to wait.

Our raffle to raise funds for our program is going well, we are over the $9000 mark with ticket sales but still have over 1000 tickets unsold. If you have not bought a ticket yet, please consider doing so to support our Youth Pheasant Program We will have tickets available at the upcoming Annual General Meeting June 20 at the Legion. There are 2 great prizes, a Beretta A400 Shotgun and a DJ MidDrive Ebike, both valued at $2500. Draw date is not until September 12, so if you can help out with selling tickets, please contact Doug Wood (403-318-4245) or Ken
Machell (403-304-0642).

Volunteers for our program are always welcome – if you are interested in helping out this season please contact Ken at 403-304-0642
